One night while I was sitting in our living room/library I was looking around and noticed a lot of the authors I started reading when I got super into reading had stopped writing books or at least as many as they had when they first started.
Now I know things change and writers come and go, but it hit me so suddenly and I wanted to see if anyone else noticed this or if I'm just crazy. The answer is yes, I'm 100% crazy, but that's beside the point.
I fell in love with reading at an early age and I have ALWAYS been a huge fan of series. From Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events to Richelle Meads Vampire Academy. Now I'm not saying I don't LOVE the new authors that are being introduced into my loving bookshelves, I'm just curious about the authors I grew up with and why they seem to have tapered off into the mist.
Lemony Snicket: The Series of Unfortunate Events was such a huge series when I was growing up. I remember reading them while I was supposed to be participating in dance classes. The books moved from a movie to a TV Netflix series and I'm just surprised there haven't been more books from this author.
Ellen Schreiber: She wrote Vampire Kisses and Full Moon were both very well done and fun series that I loved to death, but I haven't read or seen any books from her since 2012.
Allison van Diepen: I have loved a lot of her series. My favorite one and introduction to her was "Raven", which I haven't read in a minute, but I did really enjoy this standalone a lot and haven't seen a new book from her since 2017.
That was just to name a few.
Are there any authors that you used to read that you haven't seen in forever?
Do you know where some of these authors have gone?
