Men like Nick should come with a warning label... don’t touch. He walked into the shop, smelling like heaven, wanting his first tattoo, and I should have refused his business. Because I knew the moment I set eyes on him, I didn’t stand a chance. Still, I fell down the rabbit-hole with him.
Now, he’s gone, moved on, and the result of our one-night stand is left growing inside me. I’ll probably never see this man again.
It was only supposed to be a little ink. A parting gift to myself from myself. Because when your girlfriend dumps you for a famous rockstar, you leave. You move on. You get the hell out of town and forget all about her. But I never counted on meeting Amanda before I left. Or the night we shared. Or the mark she left when she put her ink on my skin.
I have to go back. For her.
*INKED is a full-length standalone with a HEA.
My Review:I have a soft spot in my heart for anything Sarah Darlington. I've loved her writing since her first published books and that hasn't changed in the least.
Inked is a story about Nick and Amanda. Nick was just dumped by his girlfriend for a rock star after she'd told him he was too boring. As his going away present his plans were to get a turtle tattoo on his butt and then head back to live with his parents for a little bit. He didn't expect to meet Amanda, a girl who he feels an instant pull and attraction to. After he gets tattooed he spends the night pleasuring her in the shop and then leaves town.
Two months later he's back and Amanda is pregnant, with his child. Nick suffers from anxiety and worries Amanda won't want him long term. Amanda felt the pull for Nick when he came into the shop and now that he's back she wants to know if he'll stay with her not just because she's pregnant with his child.
Inked was a cute read. I liked the sexy scenes a lot and both characters were very fun to read about. The only issue I had was the story felt a bit rushed. I wanted the characters to get to know each other more instead of having sex all the time. The rest of the characters and story fell away to just Nick and Amanda and their connection and sexual chemistry. I would have liked to have read more about each characters back story and their friends.
I still very much enjoyed this story, especially since I have now been through Kill Devil Hills. Made picturing the world they were in so much easier. I can't wait to see what Sarah Darlington puts out next.
