Blog Tour: CALIFORNIA DREAMIN' by Saffron A. Kent

Everyone thinks Dean Collins is too old for Fallon Blackwood. Her parents, her friends, even Dean himself.

In fact, he wants her to date guys her own age. But Fallon doesn’t care about that.

All she cares about is that she can’t take his eyes off Dean, her neighbor, her best friend, the guy who taught her to ride a bike and to climb trees.

All she cares about is that sometimes Dean can’t take his eyes off her, either. And that sometimes he looks at her like he wants to kiss her.

So it doesn’t matter that he’s thirty-two and she’s eighteen.

All that matters is that they belong with each other, and she needs to convince him of that.

Good thing they’re taking a cross-country road trip together, right?

California to New York; three thousand miles and a love story in the making…

My Review:
Of Saffron A. Kent you are so sneaky. I really am not a super big fan of age differences between character tropes. I think it's because I work in schools with young children and have had issues with pedophiles. So to say I generally avoid this trope at all is a complete understatement. She has me loving on this trope like nobodies business.

Fallon proposed to Dean when he was 17 and she was 3. He told her she'd change her mind, she didn't. Now she's 18 and she's moved across the country to be with him after he left abruptly. Fallon has always loved Dean, but she didn't realize she was in love with him until he was getting on the plane to move 3,000 miles away. Now she's devised a plan to go on a road trip back home with him so she can him how she feels.

I loved this story. I was excited to see some of our past characters from previous stories. Fallon was so cute and I loved how open she was when she was talking about her feelings and her struggle with anxiety and depression. I also loved how her parents were completely open with their struggles as well. It's something as someone who supports mental health that I think is so important to build strong and healthy children.

Anyway, this was an amazing story. It was based on the characters and their love for each other and the struggles they faced with these struggles and not just sex. Beautifully written and just an all-around enjoyable read!
