Oakley Spurlock is dying.
She only has weeks to live thanks to a freak infection that totally and completely destroyed her kidneys.
Despite her family's desperation, not a single one of them is a match.
In a last-ditch attempt, Oakley's father takes to social media to bed for help to save his daughter's life.
Pace Vineyard is lost. So lost, in fact, that he's not sure he wants to be found.
But then a beautiful woman's face is splashed across social media, and Pace finds a spark in his soul for the first time since a bomb went off beside him.
He's already missing two legs. What's one more kidney?
At least, that's what he tells himself.
What he doesn't expect is to give his heart to the woman, too. Or for the woman to run away with it and force him to follow.
I'd Rather Not was been one of the best books in this series and books by Lani Lynn Vale.
Oakley found out her kidneys were failing and she didn't know what to do. She thought she'd find a donor. Now it's four years later and she's running out of time. When her father sends out an SOS to find her a donor Oakley and her family never thought it would bring them Pace, the man who served with Oakley's brother and who has been very much in love with her since her brother told him about her.
Oakley was such an adorable and relatable character. Despite being sick and tired she was caring and sweet and full of love and caring. Pace was adorable and sweet. I loved him so very much. He'd been dealt such a crappy hand and yet had so much caring and love in his soul for Oakley and her family it made me love him so much.
I love love looooved this book. Start to finish this book was amazing. Oakley and Pace were phenomenal characters with unbelievable chemistry and backstories. Absolutely fantastic book.
This book is a much read. The pacing was phenomenal, not too quick and not too slow. The character development was fabulous and I loved the slow build of strength and love within each character.
