Book Description: (goodreads)
Annelie fell for Lukas the moment he walked into her pub three years ago. He’s stunning, his vivid green eyes lending to his otherworldly beauty, but he’s seriously out of her league. When he tells her that she’s beautiful and confesses that he wants her, she can’t resist him and his passionate kiss. She unleashes her desire and seizes the moment and Lukas with both hands. But Lukas has a secret, one that will test Annelie’s love for him and threaten to tear them apart.

He’s an angel.

Annelie can’t believe it when Lukas says that their feelings for each other aren’t a sin, but she can believe his pain when he tells her the reason he’s on Earth. He is fallen, cast out of Heaven as punishment for a crime he didn’t commit. Lukas isn’t about to give up and accept his fate though. He’s determined to prove both his innocence and his love for Annelie, and to show her that the intense passion they share is real.

When Lukas and Apollyon discover who framed him, will he be able to stop them from going after Serenity and Annelie? Will he be able to protect the woman he loves and fly away with her into their forever after?

My Review:

Before Reading:
At the end of Her Dark Angel there was the first chapter or two of Her Fallen Angel so I was extremely excited about reading this story because the time excerpt was really intriguing.

Annelie works at a bar every day and for the past three weeks the man she fell in love with, Lucas has been missing. When he finally comes into the bar looking dejected and asking for alcohol for the first time in three years Annelie is a bit surprised. Watching him put back glass after glass gives her great concern for Lucas and when she finally starts talking to him the connection she’s felt with him for the past three years becomes even stronger and for the first time it seems Lucas returns her feelings.

Offering Lucas a ride home they end up at him apartment admitting their feelings towards each other and having “the sex” for the first time. Waking up with a terrible headache and Annnelie stroking his scars Lucas can’t help what happens next, his wings came shooting out of his back and now he has to explain his situation to Annelie before she can race out the door:
Lucas is now a fallen angel that has been cast out of heaven for a crime he didn’t commit but has no idea how to fix. Waiting three years for his recent hearing the court condemned him that he shall never fly again and will remain on earth for eternity.

Seeeking Annelie’s help they travel to Paris to visit Apollyon for help and to show Annelie how angels and humans can be together without it being a sin they forge a plan that Lucas will descend into Hell with Apollyon to see the pool where they will find the truth.

However, when Lucas finds out the truth about the fateful events all those years ago his realization may have just placed Serenity and Annelie in terrible danger. Racing to protect the women they love Lucas is unsure if he has the strength to fight off this age old enemy, and even if he does will Lucas and Annelie be able to overcome the challenges ahead if Lucas can get back his wings.

Lucas is a sweet, caring, and determined man who wants both his wings back and to keep Annelie forever. He’s always honest and believes his strength will come from her love.
Annelie is a wonderful character. She puts herself in harm’s way and is extremely intelligent. While one scene she did overact she makes up for it. She loves Lucas and is willing to sacrifice everything to be with him. She also always puts his needs before hers so he can be happy.

Just as in the last book the point of view switches between the two main characters Lucas and Annelie. I’m a big fan of dual pov’s so that’s another reason I found these books so interesting.

Overall Reaction:
I enjoyed Her Fallen Angel more than I did Her Dark Angel. I felt the characters were more believable and I also liked how readers got to see how the previous characters were doing. There’s a lot more action and angst in this book too which was awesome.

I would recommend these books who like a series that doesn’t feel like a series. There’s lot of love and “the sexy time” which turns the passion level up a bit. The writing is well done and the story is short, what more could you ask for?
