Review of Angel Fire (Angel #2)

Angel Fire (Angel #2) by L.A. Weatherly

In Book Two of L. A. Weatherly’s wildly romantic, action-packed trilogy, the angels are back with a vengeance . . . and they don’t have heaven in mind.

In the wake of the Second Wave, the angel menace has exploded, and Alex and Willow are on the lam. Willow’s prophetic dream points them to Mexico City, where they connect with a fledgling group of angel killers led by the exotically beautiful Kara, an Angel Killer from Alex’s past. But the team remains suspicious of Willow, even after the more-experienced Alex takes over as leader, training them hard for a rush attack on the Seraphic Council, or “The Twelve.” This elite group of all-powerful angels is also under the scrutiny of Willow’s angel-father, Raziel, who has his own sinister plan to defeat them.

What Willow hasn’t told Alex is that there was also a mysterious boy in her dream, one she felt overpoweringly attracted to. When brooding, gorgeous Seb shows up in the flesh, he turns out to be another—possibly the world’s only other—half angel. He’s been searching for Willow all his life, and when Alex enlists this rival to help keep Willow safe, he can’t predict what chemistry will pass between them . . . or how far Willow might go to keep Alex safe. Will their love endure or spell doomsday for the human race?

Angel Fire was nothing like I imagined. The entire book was filled with conflict, so many twists, turns, waring emotions, sinister plots, and amazing passion I honestly could not but this book down. All of this made this book even more amazing. I could not put this book down. There was never a dull moment while reading Angel Fire.

Willow and Alex's life are waay more complicated in this story. They are both dealing with a load of discrimination and leadership problems from the other AK's which leaves Willow virtually alone, and Alex extremely stressed. Then enter new hottie half angel Seb. Seb causes a whole set of relationship problems for Alex and Willow. I never thought I would end up loving Seb as much as I loved Alex, but L.A. Weatherly did an amazing job writing him I couldn't help but love him. Willow is also dealing with problems with her angel half. So here life is completely frantic. The other AK's you may or may not end up liking towards the end, but I definitely did not like them most off the book. The Angel's are a lot more sinister in this book, if you can believe that.

After Alex and Willow move to Mexico City there is a whole new set of challenges. Alex needs to start training new the AK's and they aren't too fond of Willow. Willow feeling more alone and helpless as she ever has, is now facing some new challenges. Her angel is on the fritz and she doesn't understand why. She can't tell Alex, she can't tell the other AK's, so when she finally has to go on a hunt with Alex and the new AK's for practice she's more than nervous that her Angel will let her down. There she meets Seb, a boy who has been seraching for Willow his entire life shows up, it throws a lot more problems with the new AK's and now with Alex. Alex knows that Seb is in love with Willow, and they are spending most of their time together. When times gets rough and they do get horribly rough, will their love survive? Now telling. Make sure to check out this awesome sequel to Angel Burn, it's one of my favorites. I would highly suggest you pick this book up as soon as possible. I however, would not suggest reading this book before reading Angel Burn. Angel Burn comes first and sets up the world for Angel Fire.

Favorite Quote:
This quote was extremely hard to pick because I had so so many but here it is. I chose this quote because this quote shows that even though their life is harder they still love every part of each other, which is why I fell in love with them as characters in the first place
"I kissed his nose. "You have a very nice nose; are you aware of this fact?"
He laughed for the first time in days, warming me like a hot drink on a winter's evening. "No, I can't say that I am. I don't think my nose has ever gotten a compliment before."
"Poor nose. I deserves lots of compliments." I kissed it again.
Alex shook his head with a grin. "My nose and I both thank you.""
