Music Monday #5

Music Monday is a weekly book review I do on my blog to show what music reminds me of certain books. Music Monday's are one of my favorite blog postings so, I hope you all love them and let me know what you think. 8)
Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls #1) by Maggie Stiefvater

For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf—her wolf—is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without.
Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human… until the cold makes him shift back again.
(Synopsis from Maggie Stiefvaters official website)

The song this week is called "Say Yes" by Elliot Smith. For those who have read this book you'll recognize the name Elliot Smith as the musician who Sam was compared to throughout the books. This song was introduced to me by my boyfriend and it really goes along with the song. The song more or less reflects what Sam is feeling towards Grace throughout the book. "Say Yes" is very much like the songs that Sam writes and plays during the book, and the series. I hope you like it, here are the links: "Say Yes" Lyrics & "Say Yes" Video.

I honestly loved this book from the first chapter.
The cover, although seemingly plain is so perfect for this book.
  • Grace's character's life isn't exactly perfect. Her parents are never there and leave her to take care of herself. She has two best friends who she hangs out with. She's really smart and intuitive, plus reads lots of books. She's honestly a relate-able character, to me at least.
  • Sam is adorable. He works in a book store when he's human, and watches over Grace's house as a wolf. He has a dark and tragic past, that haunts him through the entire book, and series really.
Throughout the book after Sam and Grace meet each other, they are instantly in love.
  • Sam and Grace are trying to find a cure for Sam so he can stay human and stay with Grace forever. It's an extremely difficult task, especially when more and more people are getting bitten to be changed into werewolves. As Sam and Grace struggle to find a cure, friends are lost and gained, and then Grace's family becomes a problem.
  • The book has a lot of suspenseful moments, heartbreaking moments, an epic love, and lots of mysteries. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. L
Let me know what you think of the review. 8)
Book Trailer? I think yes!

Review: Glimmerglass by Jenna Black

It's all she's ever wanted to be, but it couldn't be further from her grasp...

Dana Hathaway doesn't know it yet, but she's in big trouble. When her alcoholic mom shows up at her voice recital drunk, again, Dana decides shes had enough and runs away to find her mysterious father in Avalon: the only place on Earth where the regular, everyday world and the captivating, magical world of Faerie intersect. But from the moment Dana sets foot in Avalon, everything goes wrong, for it turns out she isn't just an ordinary teenage girl, she's a Faeriewalker, a rare individual who can travel between both worlds, and the only person who can bring magic into the human world and technology into Faerie.

Dana finds herself tangled up in a cutthroat game of Fae politics. Someone's trying to kill her, and everyone seems to want something from her, from her newfound friends and family to Ethan, the hot Fae guy Dana figures she'll never have a chance with...until she does. Caught between two worlds, Dana isn't sure where she'll ever fit in and who can be trusted, not to mention if her world will ever be normal again.
(Synopsis from goodreads)

Okay so I was extremely excited to read this book. From the description I thought it was going to be amazing. The cover is amazing, and I was anticipating finding out what a Glimmerglass was. I'm pretty sure I still have no idea what a glimmerglass is but oh well.

While reading Glimmerglass for a bit, I was fairly certain I wasn't going to write a review on his book. I know the rule is: If you have nothing nice to say, don't say it at all. I try to follow that rule in my every day life, even so that is why I almost didn't write a review. However, I ended up sort of enjoying the ending a little bit, and figured I could write a little on it. Now keep in mind, this is only my opinion. If you liked/ loved this book please let me know what you enjoyed about it. I would love hearing from you.

Throughout the first two hundred pages of the book, I honestly thought I was going to have to quit reading this book.
  •  I was not a big fan of the character who to me was just whinny and immature, and just completely unlikable to me.
  •  The story-line was so slow, but when it picked up it really picked up which was great.
  •  Reading about Avalon was so amazing, I seriously wished I could visit it in reality because it sounded so amazing. There are hottie guys, blooming friendships, major conflicts, and from what I could tell possibilities for a love triangle angle. There was also, mythical lands, fairy powers, and power plays.
  • This book is extremely descriptive, and consists mostly of inner dialogue.

  • My favorite character had to be Keane. He was super sexy, although when reading it sounded as if ALL the male characters are super sexy...another reason I would seriously need to visit Avalon.
  • It seemed to me as if any character but Dana had a strong personality, and to me were more likeable
Dana became likeable to me towards the end of the book which means that I will probably need to go out and get the second books. Which is called Shadowspell.

Overall, if you are struggling through Glimmerglass, I would suggest finishing just in case you end up like me, and like the ending.

Favorite Quote: To me this scene was incredibly funny.
"Glad to hear it," he replied with a cocky smile. "Now why didn't you go for my balls when I slung you over my shoulder? I let you hang low enough to have a shot."
I pushed myself up to a sitting position, ducking my head to hide the blush I was sure colored my cheeks. "Only in your wildest dreams am I touching you there."

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly blog meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews. Stacking the Shelves is all about sharing what books you've bought this past week. Now this week the additions to my bookshelves is small but, I don't want to leave out such an amazing book.

Endlessly by Kiersten White

If you didn't know I've been wishing for this book since I finished reading Supernaturally (Paranormalcy #2) last year. So I can not wait to read this book.

Well that's it for this week.

What books did you get this week?

Get Me Off the Shelf #1

Get Me Off the Shelf is inspired by "From the Review Pile" from Stepping Out of the Page blog.I got this from Sherri's FIK*TISH*UHS Reviews.

The aim of this meme is to showcase books that you own, but just haven't got around to reading yet. It could be a book you bought yesterday or years ago. Maybe you even have a few books on your eReader just waiting to be swiped to open the pages.

1. Give a synopsis of the book with image.
2. Tell us why you haven't read the book yet, including when you got the book (if you remember).
3. Link the post in the linky below.
4. Visit other blogs and post!

This weeks book is: Destined by P.C. & Kristin Cast

Synopsis from Goodreads:
Zoey is finally home where she belongs, safe with her Guardian Warrior, Stark, by her side, and preparing to face off against Neferet – which would be a whole lot easier if the High Counsel saw the ex-High Priestess for what she really is. Kalona has released his hold on Rephaim, and, through Nyx's gift of a human form, Rephaim and Stevie Rae are finally able to be together – if he can truly walk the path of the Goddess and stay free of his father's shadow…
But there are new forces at work at the House of Night. An influx of humans, including Lenobia’s handsome horse whisperer, threatens their precarious stability. And then there’s the mysterious Aurox, a jaw-droppingly gorgeous teen boy who is actually more – or possibly less – than human. Only Neferet knows he was created to be her greatest weapon. But Zoey can sense the part of his soul that remains human, the compassion that wars with his Dark calling. And there’s something strangely familiar about him…
Will Neferet’s true nature be revealed before she succeeds in silencing them all? And will Zoey be able to touch Aurox’s humanity in time to protect him – and everyone – from his own fate? Find out what’s destined in the next thrilling chapter of the House of Night series.

Why I Have Yet to Read This:
So if you don't know it already I have a ginormous obsession with vampires. Not that I want to be one, but I love vampire movies, books, television shows, magazines, etc. I started reading the House of Night series when it first came out which was in 2007. I received Destined as a Christmas present and have yet to read it because I honestly feel that this series is too long. This is book nine in the HON series and I can't bring myself to read it. I know I eventually will but I haven't gotten around to reading it yet.

I love it when I get comments so feel free to leave some and stalk around my page like a creeper 8)

The Dark Side of Night by Amanda Day Review

Dark Side of Night is the first book review anyone has ever asked me to do. I was super excited about reading this book after I got the e-mail asking if I would review Dark Side of Night. So thank you Amanda Day the author of this amazing book for asking me to do this book review, and introducing this book to me.

Everybody knows a boy like Oscar.

He’s popular at college, fun and good looking.

When Oscar is viciously attacked in the City by men with long curved teeth and eyes that glow, a mysterious girl appears in a frightening storm of knives and skill to save his life.

Nobody knows a girl like Cyan.

Her ice-white eyes show the pain of her broken soul.

Self-appointed warrior, she fights against the darkness and shadows of a world hidden to most. She considers saving a boy’s life just part of her job, so Cyan is more than surprised when Oscar comes looking for her.

He wants answers. She wants to be left alone.

Cyan isn’t sure how to let someone into her life, and maybe even her heart, after decades alone, while Oscar isn’t sure if the world he has willingly stepped into is too much to take.

As night and day collide with painful consequences, they are left asking if love really can conquer all… even when it seems impossible?

  • Honestly I didn't know what to think of this book from the description.  After reading this book, let's just say the description is not much to go off of.
  • I think the cover is completely amazing.
  • There aren't many dull moments throughout the book. There is major action from the beginning of the book and I honestly mean the very beginning to the very end. The book does leave off with unanswered questions, but I felt that that was okay, because of how the story was set up.
  • The book is full of mostly description, and interactions between the two main characters: Oscar and Cyan. The Dark Side of Night is filled with mysterious strange creatures, Cyan's dark past, and the many other scary things that go bump in the night.
  • Each chapter switched of between Oscar and Cyan. The pair are such an unlikely pair. Where Oscar is full of energy and always looks on the bright side, Cyan is the complete opposite.
  • Both characters are surprisingly likeable and you cant help but hope they end up together in the end. no love triangle, but still major complications with the "relationship."
  • Oscar is a really great character. He's noble, friendly, just an all around perfect person.
Cyan on the other hand has a dark past and a brooding personality. She kind of reminded me off Katnis from the Hunger Games Trilogy, not the same just similar in many aspects.

Overall, absolutely adored this story. Also, I loved how throughout the story you can see why it is called "dark side of night" which is neat-o, because is was a main theme throughout the book.

Wishlist Wednesday #3

Wishlist Wednesday is a weekly post put on by the Pen to Paper blog. Where you post about a book you really really want to read or has been on your wishlist. If you've seen my to-reads list on my goodreads you'll know there's a lot of books that I want to read. This weeks book is:

Onyx (Lux #2)  by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Being connected to Daemon Black sucks…

Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarre connection. I’ve sworn him off even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But against all common sense, I’m falling for him. Hard.

Our relationship issues aren’t out biggest problem…

The Department of Defense is here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we’re linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And when a new boy shows up a school with a secret of his own, things get complicated fast. I need to choose between my own instincts and Daemon’s.

But then everything changes…

I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. Daemon’s never going to stop searching until gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?

No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies.

Why I Need This Book:
  • Jennifer L. Armentrout is a complete writing genius and all of her books are amazing,
  • Obsidian was amazing,
  • I have read too many teasers to not read this book,
  • The Onyx cover is soo beautiful
  • Finally, I am have a slightly large obsession on Daemon Black(can you blame me? I think not!)

Music Monday #4

Music Monday is a weekly book review I do on my blog to show the music that reminds me of a certain book. Music Monday's are probably one of my favorite blog postings I do, so I hope you enjoy. Feel free to comment and let me know what you think. I love comments 8).
This weeks book is:
North of Beautiful by Justina Chen Headley

As he continued to stare, I wanted to point to my cheek and remind him, But you were the one who wanted this, remember? You're the one who asked-and I repeat-Why not fix your face?

It's hard not to notice Terra Cooper.

She's tall, blond, and has an enviable body. But with one turn of her cheek, all people notice is her unmistakably "flawed" face. Terra secretly plans to leave her stifling small town in the Northwest and escape to an East Coast college, but gets pushed off-course by her controlling father. When an unexpected collision puts Terra directly in Jacob's path, the handsome but quirky Goth boy immediately challenges her assumptions about herself and her life, and she is forced in yet another direction. With her carefully laid plans disrupted, will Terra be able to find her true path?

Written in lively, artful prose, award-winning author Justina Chen Headley has woven together a powerful novel about a fractured family, falling in love, travel, and the meaning of true beauty.

The song I chose for this week is It's Not Me by 3 Doors Down. I feel like this song captured how Terra was feeling towards the world. A world that wanted her to be "like everyone else" and not "flawed". It's really a great song and if you want to check out the lyrics you can go --> 3 Doors Down lyrics, video go--> 3 Doors Down Video
I love this book. I am happy I decided to reread this book, especially at this particular time in my life. I think this book is about choosing your own path, and becoming who you are. At least that's what it was to me. I loved how the book showed Terra's growth, and how each event in her life led her to be the strong person she was at the end of the book. Jacob was awesome too!!! Hottie!!!! I love how almost all the characters in the story made their own "maps" and discovered who they were truly meant to be. I also liked how the characters all had realist problems, so that aspect made the story relate able.
  • The story follows a girls journey to accepting herself. Terra Cooper has what seems like the perfect life. Amazing body, dating the head football player, is graduating school early for her amazing grades, and has a job she loves.
  • But her life is anything but perfect. She has an amazing body to keep everyone's eyes off her "flawed" face. See Terra has a port wine stain. And while her and her mother have tried everything they could to get rid of the marring stain, no such luck.
  • Also, her life at home is anything but ideal.
  • Then she meets someone: Jacob. Jacob is the exact opposite of Terra, free spirited, and above all accepts himself. There's immediate chemistry between them and takes Terra and her mother, on a journey of self discovery.
  • I have to say that while Terra deals with a ton of self- esteem problems, she was still a very likeable character. Mostly because her self- esteem problems are very well explained throughout the book, and goes into great detail as to why she has them. Terra's character is very well written as is the entire book. The book isn't excessive on details, and has an equal amount of character interactions, and inner dialogue.
Favorite Quote:
"If Jacob was right and clothes were costumes and makeup a mask, then our attitudes and habits must be our shields. Isn't that what compulsive eating eating was for mom? And round-the-clock work for Merc? And Dad's meanness, his sniping, his criticism - wasn't that just a front to cover his shame? His humiliation?"

I like this quote because it reminds me that it doesn't matter what's on the outside, because that is just the surface of a person. Just like there are many reasons for why people act the way they act. Many things are just a front, what matters is what is hidden underneath all of that.

Backtrack To Awesomeness

I didn't get to post yesterday a.k.a. Monday July 16th on the count of I was on a plane all day long. Not kidding. We left for the airport at 12 in the afternoon California time and landed and left the airport at 9 p.m. Illinois(home) time. So needless to say it was a long day and I never want to see another airport. Surprising right? So I figured I would post twice today to make up for my lack of postage yesterday. And what better way to do that then to post one of my favorite books Official Book Trailers? No idea? Me either so here you go for your viewing pleasure...and mine 8)

Review of Immortal Hearts (Vampire Kisses #9)

Athena "Stormy" Sterling is coming to Dullsville, and Raven is both excited and panicked in anticipation of Alexander's little sister's visit. Alexander tells Raven that she and his sister have a lot in common, but can the mini-Raven be everything she hopes for? Alexander calls her Stormy for a reason.

Stormy's visit stirs up the perfect immortal whirlwind. Raven is forced to take a good look at what it would really mean to be a vampire in the Sterling family, aside from some of the things she already loves, like shunning the sun and sleeping in a coffin with Alexander. When Raven compares her life with Stormy's, she can see that it's not all starry skies and black roses. But Raven knows she's always wanted to be a vampire.

Alexander is as romantic and dreamy as ever, and though he keeps showing Raven how much he loves her, will she ultimately be able to convince him that it's the right thing to turn her?

This final chapter of Vampire Kisses' nocturnal romance will keep all mortal and immortal hearts racing.

I can not believe this series ended. I am so happy with how it ended though. Immortal Hearts was nothing like I expected. Seriously Alexander just becomes sexier and sexier with every book. I love how Raven always stayed true to her character throughout the entire series, but still grows. I also love that she didn't change her mind in the end and just grew as a character with understanding. Raven is such a strong character. She has never wanted to be popular, just herself, and she always knew who she was. Which seriously made this series even more amazing. Stormy was so bleeping awesome. If I were a vampire I would want to be like her too.

Favorite quote: This quote is Alexander Sterling's hottest moment ever.
"I have had just about enough of other of other guys trying to turn you, Raven. There is only one vampire who will," he said confidently. "The one who you were always meant for-me."

Wishlist Wednesday #2

Wishlist Wednesday is a weekly blog meme hosted by the Pen to Paper Blog where you post about a book that you're dying to have on your shelves, or read. This week my book is:

Lenah Beaudonte should be dead. But having sacrificed herself to save another, she finds herself awakening with strange powers that are neither vampire nor human - and a new enemy on her trail. In her vampire life, Lenah had thought that being human was all she ever wanted; but the human heart suffers pain, heartbreak and loss. With her new powers growing and the dark force of the Nex after her soul, Lenah faces a choice: between the mortal love of gorgeous Justin, whose passion fed her human soul, and taking a different path to become the mistress of her own destiny, wherever that may lead ..

Why I need this book:
  • First reason: I love love love all things vampire.
  • Two: Lenah Beaudonte is the most amazing character ever.
  • Three: The first book Infinite Days (Vampire Queen #1) was honestly one of the best books ever.
  • Four: Infinite Day's story line was original, and well written.
  • Finally: I've been waiting and waiting for this book to come out since forever. This book has had three expected release dates and none of them have happened. Counting down the days until it comes out next year in February 5th 2013.
So yeah, this is why I need this book. If you haven't read Infinite Days by Rebecca Maizel you definitely should.

Music Monday #3

The Host by Stephenie Meyer
Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. Our world has been invaded by an unseen enemy. Humans become hosts for these invaders, their minds taken over while their bodies remain intact and continue their lives apparently unchanged. Most of humanity has succumbed.

When Melanie, one of the few remaining "wild" humans, is captured, she is certain it is her end. Wanderer, the invading "soul" who has been given Melanie's body, was warned about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the glut of senses, the too-vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn't expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.

Wanderer probes Melanie's thoughts, hoping to discover the whereabouts of the remaining human resistance. Instead, Melanie fills Wanderer's mind with visions of the man Melanie loves - Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body's desires, Wanderer begins to yearn for a man she has been tasked with exposing. When outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off on a dangerous and uncertain search for the man they both love.

I love this book so much. It was my first true favorite book of all time. Love it!!!
I was so excited when this book came out. I didn't know what to expect though. I didn't think it would be like Twilight, but I wasn't sure. Now after reading this book for the billionth time I'm sure it's safe to assume I loved it. No expectations is sometimes a really good thing. I bought this book because I was a fan of the Twilight (so sue me). Anyway I saw that Stephanie Meyer was coming out with a book called The Host and had to read it.

The song I chose this week is Avalon by Bad Religion. Avalon is the island paradise King Arthur was taken after his death. The first part of the song before the chorus kind of seems like the first part of the book where Wanderer goes walking through the desert. Then the second part kind of talks about how everyone was feeling after Wanderer met some of the characters in the cave. The chorus is so perfect because Avalon is mentioned as kind of a paradise which is what the world was made into after the "souls" came and took the world over. Perfect song for this book. Here's the link to the lyrics: Avalon by Bad Religion Lyrics and this is the link to the video: Avalon by Bad Religion Videos.

  • The Host is a looong book. 619 pages long to be exact. Seriously when I was reading this book even though I couldn't put it down, it took me almost a month to complete. It's long. Filled with description, feelings, inner dialogue, as well as multiple character interactions. The story was never dull, or filled with too much "fluff" which was great.
  • I feel like the host did an amazing job of depicting the insanity of human emotions. Wanderer is the "soul" who has taken over human Melanie's body, and while even though she's been warned, the human emotions she feels on a day to day basis overwhelm her many times throughout the story. And throughout reading you realize she isn't the only one.
  • This story if a not the traditional love triangle. I'm not going to say a lot on it but if you read it you'll know what I'm talking about.
  • I fell in love with almost every character after the first time I read the book. They all have different personalities, that are so individual it's amazing. You know kinda like real life I guess.
  • This story talks about love at in it's most true form, and how far people truly are willing to go for the one's they love.
Favorite Quote: This quote is one of the main reasons I love this book. I find this quote so true.
“We value the individual. We probably put too much emphasis on the individual, if it comes right down to it. How many people, in the abstract, would...let's say Paige....how many people would she sacrifice to keep Andy alive? The answer wouldn't make any sense if you were looking at the whole of humanity as equals.”

Review of: City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare

The New York Times bestselling Mortal Instruments continues—and so do the thrills and danger for Jace, Clary, and Simon. Can the lost be reclaimed? What price is too high to pay for love? Who can be trusted when sin and salvation collide?     Darkness threatens to claim the Shadowhunters in the harrowing fifth book of the Mortal Instruments series.

Well let me just say...HOLY CRAP ON TOAST THIS BOOK IS MADE OF AWESOMESAUCE!!!! Seriously I was hooked to this series from the very beginning. I love all of Cassandra Clare's books and City of Lost Souls was no exception. I love all different point of views there were from the different characters. The multiple POV's definitely made the story more enjoyable because we could figure out what was going on and how almost everyone was feeling. I still love Clary though. She's so amazing. In this story she never lost sight of what she was doing, and she always knew exactly who she was throughout the entire story. I have to say Jocelyn was pissing me off a bit. Oh and I loved the insight on Sebastian we got in this book. It was the most I've seen of him and it was amazing. He's such an amazing manipulator and at times I almost believed him. However, that nasty bleep he pulled towards the end pf the book was so sick I swear to whoever I wanted to kick him in the face. Ew factor to the extreme. I swear the dilemmas that come up in this story are so real life and not it's amazing. Like relationship problems...it's not like almost everyone hasn't or won't deal with that at some point and the way the characters go through them it's so close to what we all deal with...sort of not the I'm your brother but still super attracted to you type of thing but yeah. Anyway I loved the different locations the characters went to. Magnus was his usual amazing self. Alec really pissed me off at some parts, but like I said I could understand why he did what he did a lot of the time. Many of the pages had me laughing so hard. Each page in this book made me want to read more and more and kept me interested throughout the entire book. Which is seriously amazing. I'm super duper sad that I have to wait until 2014 to read the next Mortal Instruments book, however I know it will be well worth the wait.

Favorite Quote: Every time I read this quote I laugh. Hehe
“Jordan doesn't really care about the blood," Simon said now. "His whole thing is about me being comfortable with what I am. Get in touch with your inner vampire, blah, blah."
Clary slid in next to him onto the bed and hugged a pillow. "Is your inner vampire different from your...outer vampire?"
"Definitely. He wants me to wear midriff-baring shirts and a fedora. I'm fighting it."
Clary smiled faintly. "So your inner vampire is Magnus?”

Also exited news I want to give a big huge mucho Thank You to me six followers!!!! You three are truly amazing and I thank you for following my blog. Stacking the Shelves is a meme that is hosted by Tynga's Reviews. It's a truly amazing meme so I try and post for it every weekend. Here are the beautiful books that made it to my e-reader, and bookshelf!!

  • Angel Burn & Angel Fire by L.A. Weatherly. These books are part of a trilogy. The third book called Angel Fever is expected to be released in October according to Goodreads. Also if you have Angel Burn in paperback, Angel Fire is being released in paperback October 23rd, 2012.
  • The Demon's Surrender by Sarah Rees Brennan. Sarah Rees Brennan is my all time favorite author. I love her in probably a very creepy way. I am still awaiting the first two books to be mailed to me!!
 On my e-reader I bought:

  • Team Human by Justine Larbalestier & Sarah Rees Brennan. Little fun fact about me is I am in love with almost everything vampire. That's mostly how I got into Teen Paranormal Romance. My first vampire book I read was the House of Night series Marked, then I read Vampire Academy and I have been obsessed ever since.

Change of Fate Review

Review of Change of Fate
Some news
First off, I am leaving on vacation tomorrow. However, I will still be doing blog postings. I may also share some fun photos of my vacation and me reading! Yay!!!
Also, when I get back I will be doing a giveaway!!! Awesome right? My first one!! Now back to reviewing..
When Lexi and Dan were sucked into the book, they left their world as they know it behind. Stuck in a strange, new place with only each other for support, Dan and Lexi begin to confide in each other. Will they settle their differences? Or has Lexi traveled back in time with the one person in Briar Creek who had always had it out for her from the very beginning? Meanwhile, Austin, Gabe, Anna, and Craig scramble to find Lexi’s father, the only person who might know how to bring Dan and Lexi home.
I honestly thought I wasn't going to like this book. The last book just made me not want to continue, but I just had to know what happened. I'm really glad I did. I have to say so far this is my favorite in the series. Lexie is a lot more likeable in this ones. There was a point in this series where I was hating her, but she totally redeemed herself.

I loved that there were so many perspectives in this story, so that I knew what was going on in the outside world as well as inside the world Lexie and Dan get sucked up into.

So many pieces of the mystery surrounding this series are solved in this book, which was great. I love how after finding out one piece of the puzzle in this series, there are still so many parts missing.

Lexie is still having boy troubles, but not as much as before, or at least different than before. I have to say I can't decide who I'm routing for at this point anymore.

There is a cliffhanger at the end that seriously left me wanting to scream. I may have said "What the freaking bleep!!!!" Seriously the ending completely left me wanting more, which I guess is the point of a cliffhanger right?

I would not, I repeat not pick up this book without reading the other 3 first. The first one is: Kiss of Death (The Briar Creek Vampires #1), Thicker Than Water (The Briar Creek Vampires #2), then Destined to Die (The Briar Creek Vampires #3), then finally Change of Fate (The Briar Creek Vampires #4. The books are on the shorter side, but filled with a multitude of suspense filled moments.

Favorite Quote: This quote reminds me of the saying "Home is where the heart is."
"I'm not going to pretend that I understand because, the truth is, I don't. I still have my parents. I still have a home." He turned to Lexi and wiped away one of the tears that slid down her cheek. "But it seems to me that home is a place where you're surrounded by people who love you...people who care about you. You do have that, Lexi. There are people who care about you."

Review of Assassin: Fall of the Golden Valefar (Demon Kissed #6)

Review of: Assassin: Fall of the Golden Valefar (Demon Kissed #6)
There is neither pure goodness nor pure evil in your heart—you are what you choose to be.
Those are the words Ivy spoke to him three years ago when she sent Eric to the surface. But she had no way to know that every day the curse would twist his mind further, making Eric more depraved and more desperate to stop the monster he is becoming. Eric puts a lethal plan into action. Once started, it cannot be stopped. The plan will result in his ultimately finding peace—and destruction.
However, Natalia has other plans. She's spent three years getting close to Eric and doesn't plan on letting him slip between her fingers. But when she finds the opportunity to destroy him, she hesitates--seeing the spark of goodness he still possesses.

This book was beyond perfection. I loved how every time a new character would come in, their perspectives were given along side the other persons perspectives. So awesome. The main characters switched from the first five books in the series, if you couldn't guess. Ivy did make a wonderful appearance during the book though which was super exciting, cuz I love Ivy.
  • Eric in this story is so different from any other time in the series. He is on a mission of self destruction. It was so awesome to finally get his perspective of things and kind of see what he goes threw on a daily basis. H.M. Ward really knows how to make all of her characters suffer, and Eric is not left out of this particular rule. However, this time he has Natalia or Nat.
  • Natalia is so perfect for Eric it is not even funny. Natalia is a new character to this series and even after only one book I love her. She is an amazingly strong, and cunning character. H.M. Ward has a way of writing characters that always seem weak or incapable sometimes, but can always surprise.
Story Line:
Assassin: Fall of the Golden Valefar is honestly full of so many twists and turns that surprises that at the end I was completely surprised, which is amazing. The story often switched between Eric and Natalia which was awesome, because you get more of the story. This story was a lot more adult than the first five which was awesome. And a total "duh" since it's Eric, who changed majorly even from the The Thirteenth Prophecy. Now he's not completely evil so you can sympathize with him.

Now the story does leave off with a cliff hanger so that means...there will be another book!!! Super awesome right? I would highly recommend reading the other five books before you read this book. Coming into a series on the sixth book is kinda hard so I would go pick up Demon Kissed if you haven't already.
