Monthly Recap: January

Holy smokes!! I honestly can't decide if this was the longest month ever or where the heck did January go? This month has been crazy but also very good. Work has been crazy, but I've been getting caught up on everything. I've also spent a lot of time reaching out to my friends and making time for them. I also tried and baked some new things and they didn't turn out terribly.

This year I am focusing on self-compassion and slowing my pace with my reading so I can focus on my blog. Since 2015 I've been reading 300+ books every year. I think it was my way with coping with grad school. Now, I've got the time and I want to start reaching out to other blogs! I've missed the book blogger community so much it feels good to go through and see what they're up to.

Hubmachine and I have started budgeting and I made a promise about book buying this year. For every fifteen books I read, I can buy one. While a lot of it has to do with budgeting, it also has to do with space and me reading what I have before buying anything else. This month I’ve read 7 of my hard copy books, 3 of my e-books, and 15 of my ARC’s. Not a bad way to start the year.

Nonbookish Stuff:

Pound Cake!!!! Isn't it pretty?? I'm a little (very) proud!

Song of the Month:
This song has definitely been keeping me in a very positive and happy mood.

Bookish Stuff:
Favorite Book(s) of the Month:

As you can see I read an astronomical amount of good books this month. It's been a great way to kick off the year. All of these books were been beyond fantastic and worth picking up! My reviews should be linked to the pictures...not sure I did it right, but we shall see.

Book(s) that Surprised Me:

Goals for the Rest of the Year:
1. Continuing to stay on top of my book reviews. I've done super well this month so far so I'm hoping to keep up the progress this month.
 2. Continue commenting regularly on other blogs

3. Finish a couple series on my bookshelves

How was your January? Read any book books this month?
What are your reading goals for this year?
