August Recap!

August went by so crazy fast I can't believe it. I had a very amazing month. I started my new job-as a full-time School Psychologist (my actual career, YAY!!!), which while starting out slow, I am actually getting home at a reasonable time now. If anyone of you has been reading my page for a while now you'll know that my internship was an hour and a half away, but with traffic, I ended up being away from home for 12-13 hours a day (from 6 am to 5 or 6 pm). That was hard. Now I wake up later and I'm home by 4 pm! It's great!

I have also spent a lot of this month spending time with friends and my husband and puppies.

Nonbookish Stuff:
My husband and I fed some duckies!

My friend came to visit and we toured Charlotte together!

PRIDE weekend went on so some friends took us to a Gay Bar in Uptown. So fun

We started growing our roses again. They look so pretty!
I made a new dessert I found on Pinterest! So good!

I started this challenge to finally get some books off my TBR reading shelf. So at the beginning of the year, I made a list of all the books I had listed for this meme. This month was a good one for me in terms of this reading challenge. I didn't do any reading towards this reading challenge this month. I had family come to visit and my friend came to visit and then I started work so it was a bit hectic. I also had a load of blog tour reviews due so I took some time.

I had a goal to binge read through authors and books a couple years ago. The idea was to a bunch of books together and binge read them like a Netflix show. Like the same author or books that are going to be movies or books about werewolves. I finished one book: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Series Challenge:

Miscelaneous Challenge

My goal was to get to 80% last year.  I started this year with 70% and am now 56%. Definitely not the direction I wanted to go, but last year it seemed like I would get one book read and then sent 8 more at one time.  It was insane and I really couldn't keep up. This year I'm aiming to read 4 Netgalley books a month.

  • I hope to read two books for each challenge
  • I WILL finish typing up my notebook
  • I want to get my blog fully updated with reviews and such

How was everyone's August?
