Can a love built on secrets survive?

Rugged, hot, and rock hard, Dred Zander is exactly the type of man that normally sends Pixie running. Not dreaming about running her hands down his washboard abs...and lower. The lead singer and guitarist for the band Preload embodies trouble behind his quick smile and guarded eyes, and Pixie left trouble behind her years ago along with the name Sarah Jane Travers and the pathetic trailer her mom called home. With her abusive past in her past, she has a new life, a new family at Second Circle, and a dream of opening her own business. She needs capital and time. What she doesn't need is a tempting long-haired rocker or the paparazzi that follow him around.

But Dred has other ideas. Pixie's sweet hazel eyes, purple hair and kaleidoscopic tattoo of exotic flowers that swirl up her arm haunt his dreams, and he knows she wants him too. He just has to convince her. But as a juicy exposé threatens to expose their pasts, and a blackmailer terrorizes their present, Pixie and Dred have to decide what really matters and fight like hell to keep it.

Reese's Review:
I loved the Purest Hook. This book is the bomb diggity.

To start off this review, let me first say I came into this story not knowing beforehand who all the characters are. I haven’t read books one or two yet so I came into this book completely unaware of the back ground for any of these characters. This factor didn’t ruin the experience for me at all. I fell in love with the characters right off the bat and now books one and two are on my must read list.

Dred Zander has had a harsh life that landed him in foster care at a young age. Now he’s in a band called Preload with his ‘brothers’ from foster care. Dred loves his life living with his brothers and playing awesome music. Dred has had a thing for Pixie since he first saw her, but she keeps saying she won’t date him. When he comes in for a tattoo sick and Pixie comes to take care of him things begin to change and Dred does everything he can to make sure she’s in his life.

Pixie owes her entire life to Cujo and Trent the owners of Second Circle. The picked her up off the street and got her into rehab. She’s had a harsh life and has been doing everything she can to make a better life for herself. She hasn’t ever been with a man, which is one of the reasons she pushes Dred away for so long. When things from her past become a problem again she doesn’t know what to do. The dark past she tried so hard to escape have ended up affecting all her relationships until Dred.

I loved every bit of Dred and Pixie’s relationship. They’re so cute together. They both have issues from both their past and their present that lead to problems with their current relationship, but I love how they solve them in realistic ways and just how great and cute their relationship is. I loved them from page one and was glad they got a happy ending.

Seriously phenomenal book. As I’m writing this review, I’m already thinking about going back and rereading the book. Scarlett Cole is amazing and her stories are beyond compelling. I couldn’t have asked for a better story. Major love for Scarlett Cole. I will be buying any and all books from her from now on. This was my first book I’d read from her so I have to say I’m pretty happy with how this story ended up. Loved her writing.

Seriously great book. I couldn’t have loved it more if I tried.
