He survived combat…but will he fight for love?
Former Army Captain and venture capitalist Preston Guthrie has always had a thing for Cat Kingston, but he never felt like he could date his best friend’s sister. Plus, he’s a wrong-side-of-the-tracks guy and she’s a white-picket-fence kind of woman. Yet when they met again just before he was deployed, sparks flew. A fire ignited. And the heat was hot. For the first time, he thought a relationship with her might be possible…until an injury in the war changed everything…
Journalist Cat Kingston had a rough couple of years, surviving a broken engagement and the loss of her job. But connecting with Preston last fall seemed right. They shared steamy Skype sessions while he was overseas—until he was wounded, and cut her off without explanation. Now he’s back in town to be the Best Man for her sister’s wedding…and she wants answers.
Preston’s struggling with a leg wound, but the war scarred him on the inside, too. When Cat pays him a surprise visit and her brother catches them in a compromising position, Preston tells him they’re dating. He’s not sure how he can spend the entire wedding week fake-dating her when the chemistry between them feels anything but…

Reese's Review:Man of Honor is a cute read.
Cat has had a huge crush on Preston-her brothers best friend-for years. When he was about to be deployed something finally clicked for them and while he was deployed they stayed in touch. Cat kept Preston sane and Preston made Cat happier than any man every before. Then he was in an accident and everything changed. He shut her out and dumped her and Cat was devastated. When a wedding in the family comes up Preston and Cat have to keep up appearances that everything is fine when really they are falling for each other again and things are becoming more complicated than ever.
Man of Honor was great. I love the play on words with the title. Preston was a great character and I think his story captured how difficult it is for people who come back from war and have difficulty asking for help. His pride and feared definitely made things difficult for him and Cat.
Cat in this story is on journey of self-discovery in Man of Honor. She is unhappy with her love life and her professional life. She’s had to move back home after she got fired and people are constantly giving her a hard time about her ex-fiancé and her harsh break up with Preston. I loved Cat and felt for her a lot of the time. I was glad she was able to grow in this story and get everything she wanted in the end.
Man of Honor is more of a love story than a romance. There isn’t a lot of sexy sexy times which I think worked for this story but if that’s what you’re looking for this is not the book for you.
