Reese's Review:
I honestly have no idea on how to fully review this hunk of a book, but here we go.

Soul Screamer Vol. 1 has My Soul to Lose, My Soul to Take, and My Soul to Save all wrapped up into one hunking 570 page monster. I’m not entirely sure how to not give too much away with this review, but if there are spoilers well my bad.

Kaylee’s story starts in My Soul to Lose where she’s at a mall with her best friend and lets lose the mother of all screams after seeing a boy with cancer. Seeing that there were no other options her Uncle and Aunt send her to a psychiatric unit where she fights to stay in control of her screams. Kaylee then move on to My Soul to Take where when she’s at a party runs into the most popular boy at school and senses someone is going to die. In this story she learns about what she and her family are; Banchee’s (if you want Teen Wolf, Charmed or Supernatural) or Bean Sidhe as they are referred to in the book. Students in her class are being killed and Kaylee has to find out why. In My Soul to Save Kaylee and her friends try to save a pop stars and her sisters soul from a demon.

I am certainly enjoying these stories a bunch but I’m not wowed by any of it. I am really wishing for less description and more dialogue in the upcoming novels but that may not happen. I am liking the mystery and action adventure vibe I get from this story. I also enjoy how not everyone has a happy ending. I know that sounds odd, but sometimes I like a bit of realism where no everyone gets a happily ever after.

Overall I’m liking the story I’m just not loving it.

A resident of Oklahoma, Rachel Vincent has a BA in English and an overactive imagination, and consistently finds the latter to be more practical. She shares her workspace with two black cats (Kaci and Nyx) and her # 1 fan. Rachel is older than she looks-seriously-and younger than she feels, but remains convinced that for every day she spends writing, one more day will be added to her lifespan.
