2016 Reading Goals and 2015 Recap

2015 was an interesting and crazy year. I got married, got into graduate school, I graduated from undergrad, I went on a cruise, got a puppy, and got a car. It was a crazy year and while it was great I'm hoping for a more laid back 2016.

2015 Recap
I read over 300 books & around 66,045 pages
I read 7 books that have been on my tbr pile since 2011 and 13 from 2012. Honestly I think I did pretty awesome in the books I got to reading this year.

I did pretty well on my reading challenges last year

The TBR Reading Challenge
I started this meme to finally get some books off my reading shelf. So at the beginning of the year I made a list of all the books I had listed for this meme. I am adding a new book to my tbr pile every week that I haven't read that I own and so my goal for 2015 was to not buy as many books or grab as many freebies. I think I did a little better with that this year and hope to continue to do so over the next year. I've added 107 books to this list on my posts and out of those listed I have read: 42. Honestly that's so much better than how many I'd read last year from this list I couldn't be happier with how many I've read this year. I know next year I will do even better.

This year I had a goal to binge read through authors and books. The idea was to group a bunch of books together and binge read them like a Netflix show. Sadly I only finished one of the book goals i wanted, but I did finish a lot of books this year so I won't beat myself up about it.

Completed Binging Ann Aguirre's books:

Finishing the series I completely own but haven't finished. I did end up completing 4 series, so I am super proud of that and just hope to accomplish more next year.

The JLA challenge which I had a problem with since I kept buying more of her books but ended up finishing 8 from this list and the latest installment to the Lux series.

This is not a binge but a huge list of books I have that I wanted to finish. I ended up reading 17 books off this list. I'm hoping to adjust this challenge goal a little for next year.
So 2016 reading challenges and goals. I honestly want to add a thousand things to this list like finish every book on this list which would be 126 books alone. That's a lot of books and a lot of pressure on myself, which if we're to be completely honest I can't handle while I'm in graduate school. It stinks and I wish it wasn't that way, but I have a blog and read to escape my reality and to have fun. Pushing myself to read 126 books on top of review requests and things like that would just be too much. So that being said here is what my goals are for 2016.

I would like to get my feedback Ratio up to the "Suggested Feedback Ratio" of 80%. I'm currently at 60%, which isn't bad, but I would like to get higher.

Another goal is to close down my review requests and to finish 10 of the books I have from there. I know 10 doesn't seem like a lot and honestly considering how much I've let that list pile up, it isn't but I need to start somewhere.

Back to the binging:
This is the main challenge I want to focus on. I am constantly putting off getting new series because I haven't finished the series I have, so this will be the main binging goal I will be focusing on.

I regards to the TBR pile challenge if I finish ANY of the books from the previous challenges I will have books read from this long list. That being said I would like to have read 20 books from this reading challenge by the end of the year.

So that's it so far for me this year. I hope to add more but ass of right now I am estimating just from my reading challenges alone I'll be reading a lot. Can't wait to see you all in the new year!

How was everyone's 2015? Any tips for effectively getting books read from reading challenges? Have any different reading challenges going on for you this year? Any you'd suggest?
