The champion must not waver.
The champion must not fear.
The gate of darkness closes.

Elisa is a fugitive.

Her enemies have stolen the man she loves, and they await her at the gate of darkness. Her country is on the brink of civil war, with her own soldiers ordered to kill her on sight.

Her Royal Majesty, Queen Lucero-Elisa né Riqueza de Vega, bearer of the Godstone, will lead her three loyal companions deep into the enemy's kingdom, a land of ice and snow and brutal magic, to rescue Hector and win back her throne. Her power grows with every step, and the shocking secrets she will uncover on this, her final journey, could change the course of history.

But that is not all. She has a larger destiny. She must become the champion the world has been waiting for.

Even of those who hate her most.
Reese's Reviews:
This was a fantastic conclusion! I couldn’t believe all that happened. Everything from the beginning of this series to the end was simply breathtaking, gut wrenching, and beautiful until the very end.

Elisa is a traitor and a fugitive in her own country. She’s on the run following those who betrayed her into enemy territory to save Hector the man she loves. She promised Hector she would save him and she will stop at nothing to do so. While they are in constant danger Elisa and her friends journey across the land to find out what the enemy wants and find a way to save her kingdom.

I seriously loved this book. So much action and just all around amazingness throughout this story I couldn’t put it down for even a minute. Bitter Kingdom is everything you would want in a conclusion and more. Constant suspense, constant action, constant mysteries around every corner it’s just an amazing ending to an all around fantastic trilogy.

Elisa has grown so much throughout this series. She was once a heavy and somewhat naïve princess who enjoyed books and prayer more than people. Now she is a strong queen who will stop at nothing to make sure everyone she loves is safe and gets their happy ending. I loved this journey of how Elisa became such a strong character. Elise doesn’t come across as dumb or anything like that in the first book and you can definitely see her strength, but now she’s stronger than ever and I seriously couldn’t love her more.

Hector is such a great character and I am so happy Elisa ended up with him. His love for Elisa is definitely something to behold. He would do anything for her. I seriously loved him. He’s such a gentleman and so intelligent and loyal you can’t help but love him.

Sadly a lot of people don’t make it to find their happy ending, but I think everything works out in the end. I am so incredible happy with how this amazing adventure ended and all the mysteries and lose ends were tied up in a nice little bow. Simply perfection.

I write books about teens who must do brave things. I'm originally from California, but I now live in Arizona with my husband, who is the smartest and therefore sexiest man I know. My books tend to contain lots of adventure, a little magic and romance, and smart girls who make (mostly) smart choices. I especially love to write about questions I don't know the answers to.
