ARC Reviews: Play Me books 1-5 by Tracy Wolff

Blurb:
In the seductive first installment of an eBook original serial from the New York Times bestselling author of Ruined and Addicted, a woman running from her past has finally found a bit of control . . . until her powerful new boss makes her go wild.

My name is Aria Winston. I’ve fought desperately to escape the seedy underbelly of Las Vegas. Now I’m on my own, in control of my own life and my own destiny . . . just the way I like it. Until Sebastian Caine changes everything.

Working as a cocktail waitress at one of Vegas’s hottest five-star casinos means putting up with a ton of bad behavior from the big spenders. But it pays the bills—and that’s all that matters to Aria, who needs every last dollar to escape from her father’s destructive grasp and the brutal man he expects her to marry. But when she lashes out against a billionaire who won’t take no for an answer, she nearly loses everything—until Sebastian steps in. The owner’s son and handpicked successor, Sebastian is dark, sexy, and kinder than any rich man should be. And when he apologizes and offers to keep her job safe, Aria can’t help the way her body reacts to his. Suddenly her job, and the security it brings her, isn’t the only thing Aria wants.

Play Me is an erotic serial intended for mature audiences. Aria and Sebastian’s story continues in Play Me: Hot.

Reese's Review:
Aria is trying to escape her past but she can’t go too far because of her sister. Stuck in a waitressing job at a casino she tries to make ends meet. Every day she deals with the rich and powerful that feel they can do anything they want, treat anyone anyway they want. When one of the Whales starts feeling up a girl against her will she does the only thing she can do, she whacks him in the head with her tray. Then she was fired. When she goes in to receive her last paycheck she never expects to see the most stunning man she’s ever seen. She also doesn’t expect him to give her her job back, or for her boss to issue her an offer, an offer for control.

Sebastian hates Las Vegas and never intended to come back. Except now his father is sick and so it’s his job to take over the casino and get out of the financial hole his father left the business in. When he finds out a girl who works for him hit a Whale and was then fired he had to make this error right. When coming face to face with her he never expected her to be so beautiful, or so feisty. He wants her in his bed and even after she refuses he knows he’ll do anything to gain her trust.

Ah, this series started with an epic bang. Aria is one amazing female protagonist. She has a past she’s running away from and although her life isn’t what it once was she enjoys working hard. When she gets fired she doesn’t know what she’s going to do, only that she won’t go back home. She’s a tough character who I enjoyed reading about. Sebastian is a hunk with a heart of gold and something from his past that makes him hate everything about Vegas and his sexy Dom vibe it definitely a sexy point as well.

I have never read anything by Tracy Wolff but I will be reading more stuff by her. I enjoyed all the mystery surrounding the characters, the sexual tension was off the charts between the two characters which of coarse added to the angst and awesome. I am so happy I requested these because this first story was absolutely amazing.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for offering me the chance to read and review this story.

Return to a world of secrets and desires. In the sultry second installment of an eBook original serial from the New York Times bestselling author of Ruined and Addicted, Aria and Sebastian turn up the heat. But will they get burned?

My name is Aria Winston. I’ve fought desperately to escape the seedy underbelly of Las Vegas. Now I’m on my own, in control of my own life and my own destiny . . . just the way I like it. Until Sebastian Caine changes everything.

If getting tangled up with her new boss is wrong, Aria doesn’t want to be right. Powerful men usually have a way of thinking they can take whatever they want while giving nothing back, but Sebastian is different. He’s gentle with her body. Rough in all the right places. And hot enough to make Aria break every last rule she’s set for herself. But with her history, it’ll take more than mind-blowing sex to heal the pain deep inside . . . no matter how good Sebastian’s intentions are. She’s spent her entire life fighting for control of her own life, and no one’s going to take that from her. But the more time she spends in Sebastian’s world, the deeper she’s drawn into his sensual games.

Play Me is an erotic serial intended for mature audiences. Aria and Sebastian’s story continues in Play Me: Hard.

Reese's Reviews:
When Aria agrees to Sebastian’s offer she didn’t expect the kind of passion he and control over her body and his that she gets.  It gets hotter and goes faster than either could have thought. After a hot time spent with each other in Sebastian’s office Aria leaves, shaken and Sebastian stays, confused as to why Aria wouldn’t let him take care of her. When he sees her later he realizes his mistake and knows no matter what he needs to get her home, with or without her permission.

Play With Me part 2 picks up right after part one left off. Aria and Sebastian spent a very hot two hours together doing very sexy things. Sebastian loses control and takes Aria deep into subspace. When she finally comes out Aria is frightened by the intensity of what they shared and leaves, without letting Sebastian take care of her.

In this story is becomes very apparent the kind of past Aria has had. She mentions her ex and how he used to hurt her. She is terrified of being taken care of even though she wants to. Sebastian after losing control feels terrible and looks for ways to help her. When he realizes if she were to be hurt she has no emergency contact he goes out of his way to make sure she’s okay. Sebastian is so sweet and caring and while he did lose control with Aria he has a big heart which shines threw when he makes sure she’s okay.

No one ever said love is easy. In the third installment of an eBook original serial from the New York Times bestselling author of Ruined and Addicted, Aria and Sebastian discover that building trust might be harder than they ever imagined.

My name is Aria Winston. I’ve fought desperately to escape the seedy underbelly of Las Vegas. Now I’m on my own, in control of my own life and my own destiny . . . just the way I like it. Until Sebastian Caine changes everything.

Ever since taking Aria under his wing and into his seductive domain, Sebastian hasn’t been able to think straight. Their chemistry is intoxicating. Their power exchange is exhilarating. And the sex leaves them both absolutely exhausted. But if there’s one thing Sebastian does know, it’s that he needs to protect this strong yet vulnerable woman. Because she has depths that are unknown—even to her. Aria has worked hard to establish herself as anything but submissive. That isn’t who she is, or who she wants to be. So why does it feel so sweet to give up control . . . and so intense when Sebastian takes care of needs she doesn’t even realize she has? But he has needs of his own—and secrets that run just as dark and deep as Aria’s.

Play Me is an erotic serial intended for mature audiences. Aria and Sebastian’s story continues in Play Me: Real.

Reese's Review:
Play Me Hard picks up right after Play Me Hot. Sebastian takes Aria home and cares for her. Seeing that she’s living with next to no food he tries to take care of her by buying her food. The next morning when Aria wakes up Sebastian is gone and Aria is less than pleased. When a bad run in with her family leads her into Sebastian’s arms she hopes everything will be okay. That is until the next time he takes her home when the past comes to haunt Sebastian.

This third installment of the Play Me series was all over the place. I did not see what was going to happen coming which was awesome. Sebastian is totally falling for Aria and she’s falling for him but neither is willing to see it yet. Sebastian takes great care of Aria, which is the sweetest thing ever. They talk and become closer and I even fell more in love with the characters. Especially because Sebastian collects comics, gotta love a guy who reads comics. Anyway not going to give away too much I loved this third installment the best so far.

I felt like the characters both grew more and the story progressed the most in this one. I also love the arguments Aria and Sebastian have in this one since Aria totally wins much to Sebastian’s surprise. It’s funny how he deals with losing as well.

Loving this series more and more.

How do you know when something’s real? In the steamy fourth installment of an eBook original serial from the New York Times bestselling author of Ruined and Addicted, a devastating betrayal unravels a fierce yet tender connection.

My name is Aria Winston. I’ve fought desperately to escape the seedy underbelly of Las Vegas. Now I’m on my own, in control of my own life and my own destiny . . . just the way I like it. Until Sebastian Caine changes everything.

Aria has learned to play Sebastian’s game. She’s given him control, taken it back, and let him push her farther than she ever imagined she could go. But when Sebastian’s past comes to light, Aria receives a glimpse behind the facade—a revelation that disturbs her even as it makes her feel closer to this simmering, complicated man. Finally she comes to understand the real reason why Sebastian feels the need to dominate everything in his path. But Aria has a tortured history, too. And together they’re a dangerous combination. Now she’s the one pushing Sebastian to the breaking point . . . and if one of them burns up, they’ll both go down together.

Play Me is an erotic serial intended for mature audiences. Aria and Sebastian’s story concludes in Play Me: Right.

Reese's Reviews:
Secrets about Sebastian’s past have made themselves known to Aria in the worst way. When Aria asks what happened Sebastian doesn’t want to tell her, doesn’t want to share his shame. When he does he’s surprised by her understanding, her passion. With emotions run high Sebastian goes too far and Aria goes running.

Play Me Right like the rest of the books in this series picks up right where the last one left off. Sebastian doesn’t know how to reveal his dark past to Aria and all the mysteries surrounding Sebastian’s past is revealed. The reasons behind his control issues are revealed and as well as the reasons for his hatred for his father.

Aria shows her understanding for why Sebastian is the way he is. She lets his take control and use her and because of her past she runs. This is probably the most tragic ending of the endings so far. Almost cried at the ending of this one all the while begging for more.

Good things never have to end. Tracy Wolff, the New York Times bestselling author of Ruined and Addicted, brings her eBook original serial to an unforgettable climax in Play Me’s sensational finale . . . for now.

My name is Aria Winston. I’ve fought desperately to escape the seedy underbelly of Las Vegas. Now I’m in control of my own life and my own destiny . . . but my future belongs to Sebastian Caine.

Technically, Aria may still be in one piece, but she’s feeling pretty damn close to broken. While she knows Sebastian would die before hurting her, their intense, steamy encounters have opened up old wounds in them both. Now Aria is considering the unthinkable: walking away again—this time to save Sebastian from the pain she knows her past will cause him. But Sebastian’s the one who set her free in the first place—how can she not show him the same care and compassion? Because, in the end, being together forever is the only thing that feels right.

Play Me is an erotic serial intended for mature audiences.

Reese's Reviews:
Play Me Right the last book in the Play Me series, I can’t believe how I flew through this series. Tracy Wolff’s writing and amazing Play Me series were compelling and full of gripping angst and beauty.

Aria has left Sebastian and has gone to try and figure out what she wants. Both Aria and Sebastian grew so much throughout this series and even more so in this final installment. Sebastian is definitely the man we fell in love with in the first book, but better.  Aria is even stronger in this final book than the first story and while she knows nothing will ever be what it was she realizes her true purpose in life.

I enjoyed this series so much. Sadly the ending just cut off out of nowhere, which was really disappointing and now I don’t know what to expect. Aria and Sebastian’s story ends with a cliffhanger and now I’m left wondering if this story will continue or not.

That being said I still did greatly enjoy this series and will be adding Tracy Wolff as an author I must read often.

Thank you to the publishers and Netgalley for the copy of this book and the entire series.

Tracy Wolff collects books, English degrees and lipsticks and has been known to forget where—and sometimes who—she is when immersed in a great novel. At six she wrote her first short story—something with a rainbow and a prince—and at seven she forayed into the wonderful world of girls lit with her first Judy Blume novel. By ten she’d read everything in the young adult and classics sections of her local bookstore, so in desperation her mom started her on romance novels. And from the first page of the first book, Tracy knew she’d found her life-long love. Now an English professor at her local community college, she writes romances that run the gamut from contemporary to paranormal to erotic suspense.

And for all of those who want the unedited version:
Tracy Wolff lives with four men, teaches writing to local college students and spends as much time as she can manage immersed in worlds of her own creation. Married to the alpha hero of her dreams for twelve years, she is the mother of three young sons who spend most of their time trying to make her as crazy as possible.
