Book Description: (goodreads)
Dante Walker is flippin’ awesome, and he knows it. His good looks, killer charm, and stellar confidence has made him one of Hell’s best — a soul collector. His job is simple, weed through humanity and label those round rears with a big red good or bad stamp. Old Saint Nick gets the good guys, and he gets the fun ones. Bag-and-tag.

Sealing souls is nothing personal. Dante’s an equal opportunity collector and doesn’t want it any other way. But he’ll have to adjust, because Boss Man has given him a new assignment: Collect Charlie Cooper’s soul within 10 days.

Dante doesn’t know why Boss Man wants Charlie, nor does he care. This assignment means only one thing to him, and that’s a permanent ticket out of Hell. But after Dante meets the quirky, Nerd Alert chick he’s come to collect—he realizes this assignment will test his abilities as a collector, and uncover emotions long ago buried.

My Review:
Before Reading:
I was extremely excited about reading Dante’s story. Everyone has been ranting and raving about The Collector so I knew this was one of those books I had to read.

Plot:
Dante Walker is hot, sexy, and a soul collector from Hell. Collecting souls for the Devil has been his job since he died a few years ago.
Now the Devil has sent him on a new mission, a mission that will secure his role on Earth and he won’t have to return to Hell ever again.
Dante thinks this job is going to be a synch until he meets his target Charlie. Charlie is the exact opposite of Dante she’s nerdy, anti-social, and innocent. Meeting her changes Dante’s perspective on everything and now he’s questioning not only himself but his job.
When Dante convinces Charlie of signing a contract that will seal her soul for the bad guys every wish she makes Charlie begins to change in ways that everyone begins to notice. Too late after Charlie begins to change Dante begins to realize he loved Charlie just the way she was.
When a different kind of collector shows up undoing his tags and revealing what Charlie will do for the world Dante knows he has a choice to make, one that may cost him everything he’s ever wanted including his life.

Characters:
Dante: I really liked Dante. He evolves a lot through this story in a lot of ways that definitely have the characters and readers liking him a lot more than they originally did.
Charlie: I wasn’t really a fan of Charlie I thought that while she could have been a great character and love interest of Dante I didn’t really get that vibe.
Charlie’s friends: Charlie’s friends are extremely loyal and willing to do anything to protect her no matter the difficulty.

POV:
Dante is the only perspective we get from The Collector.

After reading:
In all honesty I was a tad disappointed with this story. I felt that it was kind of rushed in the way of Charlie’s feelings towards Dante. I mean in all honesty her feelings for him never made sense, even someone desperate wouldn’t want to be with someone that goes “hey btw you’re ugly so let’s make you beautiful.” Um yeah that would not be happening and if it does I definitely am not a fan of any girl that lets another guy treat her like that.
I guess I just wish that The Collector had dual POV’s between Dante and Charlie. That way what I previously stated wasn’t the only thing we got from Charlie. I felt she could have been a good character to get perspective from but in this story she just wasn’t there.

Overall:
While disappointed I thought The Collector was an original story that people will definitely enjoy. The action poised with the major hottie is definitely worth the read.

Recommendation:
I would recommend The Collector to readers who love an action packed story pull of sin, sexy guys, and some insta-love. Even readers who don’t like insta-love might be able to over-look it in the face of Dante Walker.
