Synopsis: (goodreads)
In the aftermath of a forbidden moment that rocked Sydney to her core, she finds herself struggling to draw the line between her Alchemist teachings and what her heart is urging her to do. Then she meets alluring, rebellious Marcus Finch--a former Alchemist who escaped against all odds, and is now on the run. Marcus wants to teach Sydney the secrets he claims the Alchemists are hiding from her. But as he pushes her to rebel against the people who raised her, Sydney finds that breaking free is harder than she thought. There is an old and mysterious magic rooted deeply within her. And as she searches for an evil magic user targeting powerful young witches, she realizes that her only hope is to embrace her magical blood--or else she might be next.

Populated with new faces as well as familiar ones, the Bloodlines series explores all the friendship, romance, battles, and betrayals that made the #1 New York Times bestselling Vampire Academy series so addictive—this time in a part-vampire, part-human setting where the stakes are even higher and everyone’s out for blood.

My Review:
Sydney's life has never been easy, especially now that she may be falling for Adrian a Morio who is forbidden to her, and is practicing witchcraft on a daily basis, and is looking for Marcus Finch, a mystery ex-Alchemist with a blue tattoo.

When a late night spell has Sydney searching for an evil witch out for youth and power, Sydney is forced to take more and more precautions by learning spells. The worst part is the witch is non-other than Ms. Terwilliger's sister.

While trying to chase down the witch that's taking young girls youth and power Sydney also has to deal with Marcus Finch, who is nothing like she expected. After trying to convince her that the only way to be safe is to give up her golden lily tattoo and don a tattoo like his he tells her the only way he'll help her is if she does something for him.

The task will take everything Sydney has learned so far from witchcraft and from the Alchemists to secure the tape. What Sydney sees on the tape makes her come up short, as she finds that the Alchemists are lying to her and maybe everyone else.

All the while Adrian and Sydney are becoming closer and closer. While she keeps denying that she wants anything to do with him, she can't help but feel the pull between them is undeniable. When Sydney must choose between her heart and what she believes to be her duties the decision will change everything.

Just when everything seems to be going Sydney and Adrian's way a few surprise guests show up. One that Sydney loves but never expected.

Wow this book was awesomesauce. Everything I could have imagined and more. I loved the new characters, the original characters in the book, I loved it all! I believe I missed some of my bio notes because I was reading this, so worth it. This book kept me reading and guessing until after the last pages. Afterwards I went looking online to find out the next release date, and let me just tell you it is too freaking far away!
